How does KDE display the window titlebar icon?
I have code that works but only creates a 16x16 tray icon. I tried to increase the size to 24x24 but its ignored and still shows up as 16x16. The shell will display notification icons at whatever size _it_ chooses to. If it decides to show icons at all. Your program doesn't really have any say in the matter.

I would like to change the size of the icons appearing on the menu. I found oun USENET many posts regarding: $KDE_HOME/share/config/kickerrc That fix is for 9.1 ( kde 3.2.1/2 ) which has a wrong size in the kickerrc, on 9.0 with 3.1.4 just go to appearance and themes>icons and adjust the icon size there.

I plopped a Picture control on my dialog, set it's property to Icon and then made a CStatic member variable for it in my dialog called m_Icon1. When I call m_Icon1.SetIcon(...), the icon gets "stretched" to fit the size of the Picture control. Wayne, How are you loading the icon? Try LoadImage if you're using

Help - Toolbar icon size
It will capture all pre-exixting icons and convert them to the default "e". To prevent this, you have to set the desktop to show small icons. If large, you get the 'e's". To change the icon size: right click on empty desktop and select "properties" Click Appearance, then Effects, then uncheck "use large icons"

Icon size?
I will never use this version of Outlook (or Word for that matter) if I can't reduce the icon size to very small, neat and nice looking. I also cannot see how to reduce the font size for the listings in the Navigation pane. That is also way too large. I like the size of the icons on the top of the "inbox page".

If titlebar is normal 16x16 icon is used and for higher title bars the 32x32 icon is used. Same in Windows-Explorer for detail view or icon view.
